Paediatric osteopathy and physiotherapy

Gentle, painless techniques to support your baby from their very first days.

Paediatric osteopathy

When to come

During birth, the baby withstands great pressure that changes the shape of the skull so they can be born. The bones usually return to their position on their own, which is why we wait a month before the first consultation. If there are symptoms, we can assess your baby from day one.

Even if your baby is well, a full assessment helps prevent problems. As we like to say, prevention is the best treatment.

Paediatricians often refer babies to paediatric physiotherapy when they notice structural or visceral problems or developmental delays.

When should I take my baby to a paediatric osteopath?

If your baby has no symptoms, we usually wait a month after birth to see whether the body corrects any asymmetries on its own. If there are symptoms, the consultation can take place from the day they're born.

Does paediatric osteopathy hurt the baby?

No. The techniques are very gentle and painless. We treat the baby on the table, in their parents' arms or even while breastfeeding.

What problems does paediatric osteopathy treat?

Plagiocephaly, torticollis, blocked tear ducts, retrognathia, breastfeeding and sucking problems, constipation, infant colic, reflux, wind and deformities of the legs and feet, among others.

Is it worth bringing my baby if they're well?

Yes. A full assessment can prevent many problems: newborns are very adaptable and respond very well to treatment.

What is assessed at the first consultation?

Motor development and postural development, primitive reflexes, and the musculoskeletal and visceral systems.
